This is a scam attempt.

1. A foreign number supposedly sends Swiss parcel notifications.
2. A small amount is meant to tempt you into paying quickly. Your card details are then stolen.
3. The web address does not belong to any parcel service. Genuine services do not send payment links by text message.

Delete it, don’t reply, don’t click anything. If in doubt, check the tracking number directly in the official app.

This is the “Hi Mum” scam.

1. A new number with no proof whatsoever that it really is your child.
2. Money and time pressure in the same breath: the most important warning sign.
3. A phone call is ruled out so that the stranger’s voice doesn’t give it away.

Call your child on the old, familiar number. A family code word exposes scammers immediately.

This message is genuine.

1. You ordered something and are expecting exactly this message.
2. You don’t have to do anything, reply or confirm anything.
3. No link, no payment, no questions about data or codes.

A good rule of thumb: genuine messages never ask for passwords, codes or payments via a link.

This is a shock call.

1. The real police never ask for money on the phone.
2. There is no such thing as bail by phone in Switzerland.
3. Secrecy is meant to stop you asking anyone.

Hang up immediately and call your relatives yourself. If in doubt, call the police on 117.
